The mission of the Town Shop is to provide a rich and consistent array of the ingredients (People, Places, and Possibilities) that young people need to encourage and support their personal growth and development.

The Town Shop was my haven. I hated school pressure, my family issues and many other misserable things happening at home. I managed to get past those bad memories at home by going to the Town Shop. No one at the center knew of my family problems. I basically lived a seperate life for several hours a day. It kept me on the right track. I too had strayed to do wrong, only to heed to things I have learn from Dave and Cheryl. My mother even knew we were safe being at the center. I only hope that more centers are established in many towns across America, in which offer all the same standards, influence and ethics that the Town Shop in Camillus offers.

Bless both Dave and Cheryl for all they do for the youth in that area. They alone set good examples of respectable, loyal people to our society.

Thank you for doing all you do...

This was such a well written article, and even with all the support shown here, that only amounts to a fraction of the influence that Dave and Cheryl have on the teens and community. Teenage years aren't easy on anyone - parents and kids alike. Having the Town Shop was more than a home away from home, and to describe it isn't an easy task. I've been trying for years, and sometimes the smile it brings to my face is the best way I can relay that.

In a relatively short amount of time, toward the end of my high school experience, David and Cheryl began having a significant impact on my life and continue to do so, more than 20 years later. Their many good qualities would simply overwhelm a list. Their kindness, generosity and humanity have been a sweet blessing for myself and my family, in addition to all the lucky people they know.

thank you so much for making it all happen.
I often stop to think where I would be right now if I hadn't had you for the last two year gap in my life. love you both, what a legacy, it's inspiring.

I am always amazed after all these years how many people still misjudge the teens at the Town Shop. If they would just take the time to stop in and ask questions, they would be so pleasantly suprprised. David and Cheryl are doing the work they were meant to do here. These kids "look funny" only to those who choose to see only the surface. They are caring, loving individuals who are concerned with each other and the world in general. They are our hope for the future.

Dave & Cheryl,

Great article! I am always amazed by how much you do for our community's children. Your influence on kids has probably circled the world. How lucky we are.
